Are you satisfied

Are you satisfied in your life? If not, what needs to change?

Are you satisfied?

Think about the last time you truly felt satisfied? What caused you to feel that way? Was it a job, a gift, a circumstance? How long did that feeling last before you started feeling like you just keep on wanting more to fulfill another need after another? Now let me ask you this, are you satisfied with being in the presence of God?

If you were to ask any of my friends, I am guilty of chasing after things and activities. We all need a change in life and that’s okay. However, what I really needed to be asking myself was, what is my motivated behind what I’m doing? Am I wanting to feel a certain way that at the end of the day only God can give me?

Being content in the things of God

I want to bring you guys a challenge today. If you’re wanting new adventures and a change of lifestyle, may I suggest that you try something new with God? Here’s what I mean: We are all creative in getting what we really want out of life, right? Why not try changing up your relationship with Him just a tad? Instead of saying the same prayer, or reading the same devotional, try focusing on the presence of God Himself. Picture this; it’s raining, but instead of outside, it’s raining inside your heart. As you pray even deeper and pour out your heart, it rains even harder. That’s His love towards you, His tears, His heart. You may have a better example, but that’s the best one that popped out of my head! I hope you get the picture though. Be creative! If you like hugs, imagining you hugging you’re Heavenly Father while praying. If you like just talking, picture yourself having lunch with Him! Anything to keep it interesting so your relationship with Him is refreshed.

All this is easier said than done believe me! Start praying for God’s desires to become yours. Pray that you will feel His presence more each day. Sometimes it’s not saying anything at all to Him and just being still in the presence of God and thinking about Him and all He’s done.

Paul’s thanking God

Philippians 4:11-12 Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.

This verse really makes me think. How would I be if I had nothing? Paul was in chains, and He was still honoring God! Why is it so hard for us to do the same? I believe it’s because we live in a world where we have so much, and we just keep on wanting more. We are spoiled! But we’ve already been given the greatest gift of all for FREE! Jesus Himself dwelling within each believer. We would be a mess without Him.
