Emotions are hard, how do you learn to control them?

Emotions are hard

We all have them, emotions are hard, whether they’re good or bad. This past weekend my mind had to remind me how hard it can be living in the real world as a disabled person. People treat you differently, or simply don’t speak to you, especially if you’re in a group. You almost have to interrupt just to say hello or introduce yourself. I’ve spoken with my other friends that are in wheelchairs, and the same things happen to them. People either don’t know what to say to you, or they don’t have the manners they need or should have. I think deep down that is why I do so much online because I’m being seen as a person instead of someone who is in a wheelchair.

But even if we’re not, we all feel the sense of rejection or ignored at one time or another, and it’s hard, isn’t it? I think sometimes for me it takes me back in time to a memory of something that happened long ago, and one thing leads to another.

The Lord heals our emotions

Every time we feel hurt, or when something happens, it’s important to first and foremost go to the Lord in prayer, and allow Him to take ahold of your emotional hurts and pains, and He will if we allow Him to, but we first have to fully surrender ourselves to Him. See even though, I was crying on Sunday, I was still telling the Lord, how much I was hurting, and telling Him a bunch of things I really didn’t mean. That’s okay, our Heavenly Father can handle that!

emotions are hard

Here’s what I should of done, but failed to do. I should of reminded myself, of a scripture or put in my earbuds for a song to calm me down, but sometimes when you’re in the moment you can’t think clearly. As we all know!

Here’s a song I would like to share with you all.

At the end of this song, they say “Pray until he heals the hurt.” Praying could look like what I did, telling the Lord what was truly on my heart. He wants us to come to Him like little children. He loves us like no other human being on this planet. When I first found this song, I had to listen to it over and over, until it got deep within my heart, and crying are prayers within itself as well.

Emotions are hard, but with the help of our Savior we can overcome them before they overcome us. Here’s how:

  • Pray and ask the Lord to take this burden.
  • Read the Word
  • Talk to a leader or trusted Christian friend.
  • Join a support group that deals with the same issues.
  • Ask yourself what would you say to a friend?

With you and Jesus you can make it through anything!

Deuteronomy  31:8 For the Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave or forsake you. Do not be discouraged.

I am always here for you all. You can find me at Christianebooks4you.

May the Lord bless and keep you!
