How You Talk To Yourself Matters

Talk To Yourself

Good or Bad? What say you?

This video reminds me of a sermon series by Pastor Craig “Mastermind,” and Joyce Meyer’s book “Battlefield of The Mind.” They are all about capturing and controlling your thoughts. I know God talks about our thoughts in the Bible too:

23 Guard your heart above all else,
for it determines the course of your life.

Proverbs 4:23 New Living Translation (NLT)

How do we guard our hearts? By controlling what we watch, what we do, even what we think.

45 A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart.

Luke 6:45 New Living Translation (NLT)

Talk to Yourself

This verse says exactly why it is so important to guard our hearts. We are to be like Jesus (as impossible as that is for us without Jesus) and love all with His love.

We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. 4 [a]We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5

piece of paper says To be healthy: eat right, walk right, and talk to yourself right.

Talk to Yourself

This verse is the very verse why Pastor Craig, Joyce Meyer and Dr. Cloud teaches on capturing our thoughts. We cannot do so without God’s help. I highly recommend checking out all three resources but above all that the Bible and prayer. If you are overly stressed, struggling and unhappy I am willing to pray with you and be there for you to listen and study the Bible with you. But, most of all I know the way through what is happening is God and learning to control how you react.
