i give myself away

I give myself away. Empty me God so you can fill me

I give myself away

This past week I’ve had a few changes in my life. Such as getting a new wheelchair, and getting used to everything. Then along the way, my anxiety started acting up again at night time. Last night when I was in studying and in deep prayer about certain things, the Lord showed me that what some of the reason was. I told God, “I give myself away to you.” It was due to my past of what someone I was living with did to me.

i give myself away

Have I forgiven this person, yes, but that doesn’t mean at times I don’t have flashbacks of a few issues. Even though I’ve done a good job at forgetting most of it, but if I’m not careful and have my mind on the right things, my past will get back in my mind again. Think that happens with most of us when we don’t control our minds, because after all that’s where most of it begins right?

Empty me, Lord

I’m in a few bible studies a week, and in one of them we were talking about how we have to truly let the Lord empty ourselves so the Lord can fill us back up. He is our provider, He is our everything. Someone asked this question: “In the empty places in your life, do you look to God, if not, who do you look to?”

That made me think, I would like to think I look to God in everything, I try my very best to, but like you, I’m human. I am getting much better though. For example when I was going through my lesson for this morning, I felt the Holy Spirit tell me to stop what I’m doing and pray. So that’s what I did, and since I was the only one home I prayed out loud. It was soon after that when the Lord showed me what was causing my anxiety.

Closing

Sometimes in life God will have us get to a point in our lives when we truly need to go to Him, things will go great for awhile, and after time we just forget about Him until we need Him again. Then there are other times when we’re praying to Him everyday and have faith, but things still happen. Everything that God does is to either get our attention and/or make us into the person that He needs us to become.

Please don’t feel like you ever have to walk alone. I’m always here for you. You can find me here.

Psalm 139

O Lord, you have examined my heart
    and know everything about me.
You know when I sit down or stand up.
    You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
You see me when I travel
    and when I rest at home.
    You know everything I do.
You know what I am going to say
    even before I say it, Lord.
You go before me and follow me.
    You place your hand of blessing on my head.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
    too great for me to understand!

I can never escape from your Spirit!
    I can never get away from your presence!
If I go up to heaven, you are there;
    if I go down to the grave, you are there.
If I ride the wings of the morning,
    if I dwell by the farthest oceans,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
    and your strength will support me.
11 I could ask the darkness to hide me
    and the light around me to become night—
12     but even in darkness I cannot hide from you.
To you the night shines as bright as day.
    Darkness and light are the same to you.

13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
    and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
    Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
    as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
16 You saw me before I was born.
    Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
    before a single day had passed.

17 How precious are your thoughts about me,  O God.
    They cannot be numbered!
18 I can’t even count them;
    they outnumber the grains of sand!
And when I wake up,
    you are still with me!

19 O God, if only you would destroy the wicked!
    Get out of my life, you murderers!
20 They blaspheme you;
    your enemies misuse your name.
21 O Lord, shouldn’t I hate those who hate you?
    Shouldn’t I despise those who oppose you?
22 Yes, I hate them with total hatred,
    for your enemies are my enemies.

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
    test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 Point out anything in me that offends you,
    and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

Blessings,

Allison Anderson
