Monday Important Person Interview Allison Anderson Introduction

I got to know Allison Anderson couple years ago. She and I attend the same Fri. women’s group using the zoom. I own one of her books she is selling Message of Hope 365 Days. Her blog can be found in Christian Ebooks 4 You. She donated some of her time to answer interview questions so we could get to know her better.

Thank you for taking the time to do this interview, could share a bit about yourself?

My name is Allison Anderson, and I live in Roanoke VA. Founder of I have a  dog that is a golden retriever, and I have two younger sisters both in their twenties.

In my spare time, I volunteer for a few organizations helping people in need, such as a crisis line, and a line where we lead people to Christ. Which is very rewarding, and  I’ve been doing that for about two years now.

Allison Anderson, why did you first want to write?

I first started writing in my early teenage years just for fun. To start with I would make up three-page stories on pieces of paper or my computer. It was enjoyable and was a way for me to escape into another world. I’d always imagine and picturing myself to be an author and a speaker. However, I wanted to write more than ever! The real reason I feel like I wanted to write in the first place is to let my feeling go through my characters.  Which they have!

What is the focus of your blog?

A lot of my blogs are focused on people who are needing encouragement, and for those who are going through a lot. I ask some tough questions to make my readers think and take action, about what they’ve just read.

Can you tell me about an average day in your life is like?

I usually wake up a little before 8:00, have my quiet time with the Lord, then get ready for the day. Once I do my household chores, I usually sit down and begin to write, either on a blog or on my novel or anything that’s site related. Some days, I attend online Bible studies. Most days, I usually finish my tasks around 3 or 4 pm and relax. However, some days if I get behind in something I’ll work on something till at least 9 pm.

What is the most challenging thing in your life that God has helped you overcome?

One of the many things that the Lord has helped me overcome is feeling abandonment, that I had since childhood. I didn’t realize I had it until someone worked with me on some of my main routes of why I was feeling certain ways. I had gotten involved in a recovery group for awhile, and they helped me learn through Christ there is real freedom. Nobody can give me that longing but Him.

What lesson did you learn from this challenge?

I slowly learned that deep down only the Lord can give me what I’m needing. He’s my strength, my comfort, and will never leave or forsake me. I was going to people for the wrong reasons, and the Lord was teaching me that people will always let you down, but He is here to stay. They can’t heal your brokenness only He can. Each day I’m getting better at not relying on people as much for my emotional support, but going to the Lord first.

What is one piece of advice you want to leave for your readers?

Jesus says in John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one can come to the father except through me.” In everything you do, it’s important to put the Lord first. You do this by praying and spending time in His Word. If you put your Lord first in everything you do, everything else will fall into place, and you will have that peace and comfort in your heart, that only He can give. Never give up or lose faith in your journey with Jesus. If you fall, keep getting up with the strength of the Lord, and always let Him be your guide, forever and always.

It has been a pleasure to get to know Allison through this interview. If anyone has questions for Allison you can head over to her site and let her know. If you would like to do an interview with me let me know by email or in the comments.
