Lord Be Thou My Vision As I Live Life and Get Active

Be Thou My Vision

Matthew 6:33 New Living Translation (NLT)

33 Seek the Kingdom of God[a] above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

Lord be thou my vision is such a great peaceful hymn to the Lord. What a way to start the day off. Today will be a big day for me. I will be going to the doctor to talk about my referral for bariatric surgery. In everything I pray the Lord helps me to remember my life is a testimony for Jesus. His power, love, strength and hope that is available to all on earth. As I live life get active in things outside of the computer I never want to forget my readers here. How God drew people to my blog that He knew needed to hear how He can do miracles through the garbage I and my husband made of our lives.

Live life get active

As I look at the pictures above so many memories come to mind. My character defects are what I think of right away. How I love to control people and situations, my fear, worry, and everything that comes with my TBI. But. I think of Jesus and know I am alive today only because of Him.

Ephesians 2:4-5 New Living Translation (NLT)

But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)

Lord Be Thou My Vision

When you look at yourself in the mirror what do you see? Do you see your life as a testimony for Jesus. Can He use your character defects to show His glory? I believe for Him to do that one needs to get to know who He is. Jesus just asks us to believe and submit to Him. But how can we submit to someone we do not know, we do not talk to? How I have gotten to know the Lord is by prayer. But, what exactly is prayer?

Prayer is conversation with God; the intercourse of the soul with God, not in contemplation or meditation, but in direct address to him. Prayer may be oral or mental, occasional or constant, ejaculatory or formal. It is a…

“beseeching the Lord” (Exodus 32:11)

“pouring out the soul before the Lord” (1 Samuel 1:15)

“praying and crying to heaven” (2 Chronicles 32:20)

“seeking unto God and making supplication” (Job 8:5)

“drawing near to God” (Psalms 73:28)

bowing the knees” (Ephesians 3:14)

Be thou my vision

God just wants a relationship with us. He may know everything before we even say or do it. But, He loves to hear our thoughts, our questions, for us to express everything in us out to Him. The Lord can then hold a conversation with us, teach us one on one to who He needs us to be. He can take our character defects and change them to be powerful tools for His glory!

Live Life Get Active

The next, but maybe not lesser in importance is to read His love letter to us. His Living Word the Bible.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 New International Version (NIV)

16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a]may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Our treasure is in heaven not here on earth, and in order for Him to show us how to build that treasure we need to get to know Him. I know of no better way to do this than by prayer and reading His word. Now as I live life get active in things around me I pray to God be thou my vision in everything I do. I am nervous about today. I need to just remember the promises He made me in His word and in my conversations with Him. That He will be there with me, to provide what I need when I need it, to comfort me when I am down, and rejoice with me when I am up. He will be with me in my pain, and in my feeling good. Ever changing my character defects to be His wonderful Princess for His glory.
