Word of God

The Word of God is alive and active. How does it play a role in your life?

The Word of God

There are so many reasons why we have Word of God in our lives. Such as living a right way, and truly having a real relationship with Him. A personal relationship, not just saying you have one.

This past weekend I was watching a pastor. I’m not going to mention any names, but this one guest pastor that was speaking, he was talking about peace and faith and so forth. But there is one thing He missed telling in His sermon. How important Word of God is in our lives. See in order for us to truly grow, yes we can pray and go to church and go to Bible studies, but if we’re not seeking Word, His Words in our day to day lives, we’re not going to see that true change within our souls. Two or three hours out of week isn’t going to do it. We need to ponder and read for ourselves daily.

We hear a lot of people say, just hope and have faith it will happen, have good thoughts. Well, I somewhat do and don’t disagree with that statement. You can have faith, but how can you have faith without filling yourself up with Words of God? Of course, you can have good thoughts, but unless you get your butt off Facebook and onto the Word of God, how can you have good thoughts? How can you live from day to day without frustration and angry at ourworld? It only comes through His help and Power of Holy Spirit within you.

Each time we read the Word of God daily, it becomes apart of us, just like anything else. So let’s say you read a chapter or two a day of Bible, your situation may not change, but way you handle it will, and pretty soon you will feel that comfort and peace within your spirit.

Being in prayer throughout day and before and after you read His Word is so important. You are preparing your mind and heart for what a day brings. You can also pray His Word back to Him. There is power in that! It defeats our enemy and reminds us who is in charge.

Time is a big thing for me. I don’t have much of it, and I know you don’t either. What I do each morning is I wake up an hour before my starting day, read and spend time with our Lord. Now I know some of you need all the sleep you can get, which I get, but I would encourage you to find at least 10-15 minutes in your day to spend with Him. Even if it’s on your bathroom or lunch break. Doesn’t mean you have to read a whole chapter like me, but maybe a few verses to begin with. How can you NOT take time to spend with Him, especially since He gave you His son to die for you, and things aren’t going right? What do you truly have to lose by going to your Heavenly Father in Prayer? By doing this, He’ll give you His wisdom and peace.

One of the main reasons why this pastor I mentioned above didn’t teach the Word, is because I knew the Word for myself, and the Holy Spirit within me spoke to me on the inside. Don’t you want the same when something isn’t going right? It might not be with a sermon, but He can give you guidance in knowing what to do, or how to raise your kids. The list goes on!

Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
